Expert Impact becomes part of Social Enterprise UK
We’re delighted to announce that we are joining forces with the membership organisation that champions the sector.
Expert Impact, which connects social entrepreneurs with successful business people for mentoring, has become part of Social Enterprise UK (SEUK), the membership and lobbying organisation that represents the social enterprise sector.
Community interest company SEUK will become the sole member of Expert Impact and the two organisations will remain as separate brands and entities. Expert Impact will remain a charity working under an independent trustee board and the two organisations will continue to collaborate and work closely together.
“SEUK and Expert Impact share the same values in believing a more equal society can be achieved through creating a favourable environment in which social enterprises can thrive, so it seemed a natural fit for the two organisations to work even more closely together and for SEUK to be the new home for Expert Impact,” said Karen Lynch, CEO of Expert Impact and Vice Chair of the SEUK Board.
John Hunt, a serial entrepreneur who started Expert Impact in 2014, will step down as Chair of Expert Impact.
“It is with immense pride that I have watched more than 350 social enterprises access the hard won knowledge and experience of successful business people through Expert Impact. I am thrilled to see the organisation now become part of Social Enterprise UK, and I am confident that, under their guardianship, Expert Impact will continue to go from strength to strength, supporting ever more social enterprises in the coming years,” said Hunt.
SEUK’s Peter Holbrook will become Chair of Expert Impact’s Trustee Board, with Sabira Kanji (SEUK’s Director of Finance and Corporate Services) and social enterprise Wildhearts Group’s Colin Downie serving as trustees alongside him.
“Social Enterprise UK and Expert Impact have worked closely together over the last few years, which has enabled both organisations to maximise the support given to the social enterprises and social entrepreneurs we serve,” said Peter Holbrook, Chief Executive of Social Enterprise UK
“I firmly believe that this change to our relationship marks a step forward for both organisations and will mean we can collaborate even more effectively and can continue to improve and enhance the impact of both organisations.”
